Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport celebrated a record breaking 258,000 passengers arriving and departing in July 2016. This marks the airport’s busiest month to date. BBTCA has long been the business traveler’s short haul airport of choice, but the number of leisure travelers heading to destinations like New York, Chicago, Boston, Halifax and Montreal has increased in the summer months. The lower Canadian dollar has also brought more leisure travelers to Canada, and the convenience of a downtown airport is a draw to tourists.
From an advertisers perspective this is great news – a double digit increase in both the business and leisure traveler, combined with the new digital assets recently launched in the passenger terminal, they can now reach more people immersed in intimate and premium advertising environments throughout the terminal.
