Strategy and Media Used:

By encouraging passers-by to scan a QR code that would only appear on bus shelters when temperature went higher than 33℃, we got Chinese consumers excited about summer sales again. After scanning the code, people would get coupons for various snacks and refreshments offered at close-by IKEA stores.

Results:

With hundreds of scans and coupons redeemed, as well as hundreds of new IKEA members, we established IKEA stores as the best spot to get away from the heat, all the while boosting China sales.
