In September 2005, five out-of-home companies: Astral Media Outdoor, NEWAD, Pattison Outdoor, CBS Outdoor, and Zoom Media announced the creation of the Out-of-Home Marketing Association of Canada (OMAC).

Since then, membership has grown with the addition of Lamar Transit, Metromedia Plus, OBN and Titan360.

OMAC member companies represent over 90% of the country’s Out-of-Home media inventory, and through OMAC they collectively promote their strengths and develop new initiatives to increase understanding of the out-of-home medium among agencies and advertisers.


  OMAC is managed by a board of directors, with representatives from each of the member companies.
  Since the formation of OMAC, it’s members have invested over $4M on research, education and other initiatives to advance the OOH industry.

OMAC has developed several educational programs that provide agencies, advertisers and students with comprehensive information on OOH media.

  Multiple research studies have been conducted to provide insight into consumers lifestyles, media habits, shopping behavior, OOH’s ROI and its contribution in a media mix as well as a benchmark study on digital OOH.

OMAC’s website serves as a central resource for information on OOH with a searchable case study and creative libraries, industry stats and facts, an interactive mapping system and a microsite showcasing award winning international campaigns.


OMAC members support the communities they do business in by donating advertising space to charities and non-profit organizations. OMAC members contribute more than $ 10 million a year in advertising space for public service messages.
